Four Tips for Daily Maintenance of Doors and Windows

- Apr 06, 2019-

After the typhoon season and at ordinary times, we saw that the windows and doors were dirty. The first thing we thought about was that we should wipe the windows and keep them clean.  In fact, the doors and windows are the same as those of our own cars. If they are dirty, they will be cleaned to make the glass look brighter, and occasionally they will need to be maintained.  So how can the maintenance be done to prevent the doors and windows from being damaged?

First, do not hang heavy objects on the door leaf and avoid sharp objects bumping and scratching. Don't push too hard when opening or closing the door leaf.

Second, do not open the door lock with wet hands or splash corrosive solvent on the wooden door and door lock.  Do not use too much force when opening the door lock or turning the door lock handle.  Hinges, door locks and other frequently moving hardware fittings shall be tightened immediately when loosening occurs.  When the door lock fails to open properly, appropriate amount of lubricant such as pencil lead powder can be added to the keyhole for lubrication.

Third, when wiping the glass, do not let the cleaning agent or water penetrate into the gaps of the glass bead to avoid deformation of the bead.  Don't use too much force when wiping the glass to avoid damage to the glass and personal injury.  After the glass is broken, it must be repaired by professionals.

Fourth, when removing stains (such as fingerprints) on the surface of wooden doors, they can be wiped with soft cloth after being wetted with air.  Hard cloth can easily scratch the surface. When the stain is too heavy, neutral cleaning agent, toothpaste or special cleaning agent for furniture can be used. After decontamination, wipe it clean immediately.  Don't rub the edges and corners of wooden doors frequently, so as not to cause fading and damage of facing materials at the edges and corners. When removing dust from wooden doors, if soft cotton cloth is not used for wiping, vacuum cleaner can be used for cleaning.  In order to maintain the surface gloss and service life of wooden doors, regular cleaning and dust removal shall be carried out, and the surface of wooden doors can be cured with special curing liquid for wooden decoration products.
